VIDEO: Harper and Sam Make Ricotta
This smooth, creamy cheese is so easy to make, even younger cooks can do it.
In this video tutorial, kids can learn how to make cheese from scratch. Creamy ricotta is one of the easiest cheeses to make at home, so it’s perfect for smaller helpers who want to participate by stirring. Unlike cheddar, Parmesan, and other harder cheeses that take many steps (and sometimes many years) to make, ricotta is an example of an “acid set” cheese that only needs milk, heat and an acidic ingredient (like vinegar or lemon juice) to help the milk separate into “curds” and “whey.” Check out our Ricotta Pancakes recipe below!
